Staying connected, staying informed, and staying positive.
Welcome to our Community Journal.
First and foremost, I hope this finds you and your family healthy and safe. We are still with you as a community–from a social distance.
Marin Montessori is living through a time together that presents the opportunity to practice and further develop our resilience and our children’s resilience. As we know, a key predictor of future well-being and success is our levels of “grit” and resilience: our sustained efforts toward a vision, that includes struggle and the capacity to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and get back to the business of pursuing our vision.
I encourage the following: remember that children are far more capable and aware than we often think. Focus on modeling steadiness, calm, and care as we address what is within our control each day, plan for what we can for the future, and remind ourselves and our children what is good and working and healthy. We can help our children grow their resilience and realistic optimism at home.
To that end, we have created this Community Journal for you, our MMS community. Please take advantage of all of the valuable resources and information, and feel free to share these widely beyond MMS.
May our community and the planet be healthy and safe,
